Mabuhay! Welcome to my page!

I earned a BS in Accountancy from the University of the Philippines in 1999. I worked part-time as a sales represantative of Express Telecom from 1996-1998. In 1999, I worked as an I.T. consultant for Blaze Computer Systems and RVM Horizons International, Inc. My spouse is a self-employed, independent entrepreneur, and I give a helping hand to him, principally in the translations.

I was born of a Karay-a father (who spoke Kinaray-a and Hiligaynon) and of an Ilongga mother (who spoke Hiligaynon – also called Ilonggo – and who was my teacher in English and Tagalog at home). Just like a lot of Filipino children, I am immersed in the Tagalog and English cultures and languages. Filipino (Tagalog) and English are the two national and official languages of the Philippines which I have been using and learning since age 2. Furthermore, the only media of instruction at my schools in the Philippines were English and Filipino (or Tagalog) – not Hiligaynon. This is the reason why English and Tagalog are my two most dominant languages.

For seven years, I had been teaching English to Koreans, both in the Philippines and in Korea. I discovered translation with my husband, through those multilingual websites that we developed. Translation interested me a lot. And because of the demand of a medical research institute in France, little by little, I have become specialized in this fascinating domain.
